I do not read a lot of thrillers, mostly it is because the lack of specific time frame: an hour, two hours seem to be quite vague and uninteresting. But Matthew Riley manages to pull it off flawlessly, leaving people hanging on every word and action his hero does.
This Scarecrow book is exciting, I finished reading it in a day, considering the massive size of it, I think it is safe to say that the book is jam packed with action and suspense. I might have to say that some of it are a bit hard to believe, and I think even with luck it is hard to pull off.
But I did squirm, this book seems to have more torture scenes and it is more gruesome than the last. To really know the whole story about "who is Libby Gant" the reader would have to back track to read Scarecrow. It is not necessary as she is no longer a pivotal character in the story, but Mother, Gena Newman is.
I believe that Reilly has outdone himself, even Jack West, his other military hero, will have difficulty surpassing this heroic action of Scarecrow, Shane Schofield.
Must read!
