Most Essential Guide

The Writers' and Artists' Yearbook Guide to Getting Published (Writers & Artists Yearbook Gde)
Author: Harry Bingham
ISBN: 978-1-4081-2895-4
Genre: Guide/ How To
Publisher: A & C Black

This is not a lame book, I should tell you that first off. It is not really a How- To Book per say, but it is a real guide. Firstly, Harry Bingham starts off telling you that you can do it: all writers should know writing is a passion, not a real money earning work.
To show his point, first he explains publishing and the realistic amount of work and cost before a book get published and how much a new writer should be expecting as return. Bottom line is not much, Stephanie Meyer and JK Rowling got lucky, well, that and their unique plot.

If you want to get your book published, after finish writing and editing it, then this book is a definite must have before you even start looking for an agent or a publisher. Even self-publishers should read this book, there are useful information in the book that deserves to be read. Although it is not the most interesting book to read, insights offered are worth all the time spent understanding the pitfalls and traps in publishing =)
